Starting Another Year of Adventures

Beavers

After a good break away it was lovely to get back to Scouting and see all the Beavers ready to tell all their stories of holiday fun. We had a great relaxed evening of table top games. A nice easy way to start the term, we have lots of ideas for the term ahead so watch this space.

Cubs

Not a lot to report this month as we have only just restarted meeting after the Summer Break. We are very pleased to welcome six new Cubs who have joined us this term. After the introductions, our first week back was spent playing some of our favourite games and for the second week we were visited by some neighbouring Cubs from Woolton Hill. We avoided the rain and spent the evening outside with a Wide Game. As it was Talk Like A Pirate Day the Cubs had an activity which included walking the plank. Fortunately, no-one got wet !

Scouts

We started the Term with an indoor climbing session at Northway Climbing Centre in Newbury. Scouts started with a few warm up exercises and then climbed under instruction from the Centre’s excellent Instructors. Some of the Scouts climbed fairly easily to the top while others found the climbing a real challenge. As the evening went on, Scouts were tested on harder and harder climbs. The following week several of the Scouts were away on a School residential and the rest of us enjoyed a Games evening, playing our favourite games.
